Group Riding Event Sun 25 October

A club ride is so much more than a number of people setting off at the same time to ride the same route.

The committee has had many discussions about how best to support our club ride structure so everyone can have a safe and enjoyable experience on public roads.

As the clocks change and we switch to winter riding mode, we’ve decided to offer something a little different and hopefully interesting and enjoyable too on Sunday 25th October .

In this session we’ll look at how and why good group riding etiquette allows a group of strangers to function effectively together and discuss (and hopefully understand) the challenges that make it difficult to do in the first place and to sustain over long periods of time.

The session will be led by long-time club member Tim Williams.  Tim is a professional coach with a wealth of coaching and riding experience.  He hasn’t kept a record of how many miles or hours of group riding he’s done with the club over the last four decades but it is quite a lot, and he has experience of all our groups and supporting people of all  abilities and cycling interests

What’s the plan?

This is open to all club run riders but we sense it will be of most interest to GT/ ST and Inters so this will be the only formal club run for these groups on that day
